1685 is the closing track on Zedd's third album, Telos, released on 30th August 2024. It features Muse on it, making the first song ever in Muse's discography, as a band, are credited on an another artist's song.
A collaboration between Zedd and Muse/Matt Bellamy was rumoured for years, and was confirmed in August 2024 on Zedd's social media.[2]
The song’s melody interpolates Prelude in C Major by Bach, whose birth year is the track’s namesake.
