Will of the People Summer Festivals Tour | ← | Will of the People Theatre Tour | → | Will of the People World Tour |
A smaller autumn tour, with fewer, smaller gigs set to take place in several theatres across both the USA and Europe.
Information
The tour was announced on June 1st, 2022, with the gig at Berlin's Admiralspalast announced on June 11th. Tickets came on-sale on June 24th, 2022 at 10AM, local time, while pre-sale began on June 21st, 10AM local time. In Europe, pre-sale was accessed by ordering the album, Will of the People, from the official store, by 5PM, on 20th June. In North America, pre-sale was accessed by signing-in to the Members account for a unique code.
Touring began with a sold-out gig at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, on October 4th, 2022. The tour'll include a few stops at venues in which Muse haven't played in 20 years. These include the afforementioned Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles (Muse previously played at The Wiltern on December 8th and 9th, 2004), the Riviera Theatre in Chicago (last performance by Muse was on November 13th, 2004), Alcatraz in Milan (Muse last performed during the Origin of Symmetry days, back in April of 2001) and Admiralspalast, with Muse last performing there 13 years ago, in September of 2009. None of the venues exceed the 3,000 capacity, making this the smallest tour since the 2015 Psycho UK and Psycho US tours.
Allthough the tour shares the same poster design with the Eventim Apollo charity gigs on May 9th and 10th, 2022, the tour and the charity gigs are their own separate thing, with the charity gigs' production being similar to that of the Summer Festival Tour.
Production & Setlist
The theatre tour features a simple design, with moving light heads attached to grid trussing, placed both behind and the sides of the band. Having moving lights on the grid allows for interesting effects, with two lights, one on each side of the stage, pointing at each other with narrow beams going across the stage. An example of this can be seen during the performance of Minimum. Apart from moving heads, dual-colour LED lights are also placed on the floor, surrounding the band, and underneath the drum riser (which is the same riser used during the festival tour), iluminating Dom's drum kit from below. As with most of the festival tour, no LED screens are used on-stage. The piano also returned on-stage, after not being used during the festival tour.
We Are Fucking Fucked and Liberation got their live debuts on this tour. Minimum returned to the setlists after 20 years, being last performed in 2002. Additionally, Space Dementia was brought back to the US after 2004, as was The Star-Spangled Banner, which returned after 9 years, played before Hysteria. Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is played as an intro to You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween. Assassin's Grand Omega Bosses Edit was performed in Canada for the first time on the tour, with New Born first performed in Canada (in full) in ten years. Minimum and Space Dementia were also played in the Netherlands for the first time since 2004 (Space Dementia) and 2000 (Minimum).
Supporting Acts
Support acts for the tour are usually announced the day of the gig, with all of them being local bands.
During the North American leg, Muse were supported by Taipei Houston (Los Angeles), Brigitte Calls Me Baby (Chicago), Softcult (Toronto) and THICK (New York City).
During the ongoing European leg, the support acts (so far) included Robin Kester (Amsterdam), Bandit Bandit (Paris) and La Frequenze di Tesla (Milan).

Exceptions
- While the first few songs and the post-The Gallery songs have fixed positions in the setlist, the middle section appears to have random song orders night by night (example being Minimum, having another spot in the setlist each night).
- Nishe was squeezed into the setlist, despite not officially being part of it, before The Gallery & Compliance, at the Riviera Theatre gig in Chicago, due to technical difficulties.
- Stockholm Syndrome, Space Dementia & Minimum were placed after The Gallery & Compliance at the Chicago and NYC gigs, with Uprising in the Space Dementia slot during the latter gig.
- Will of the Pople was used as an opener during the first few gigs, until Toronto.
- Psycho was played before Won't Stand Down at the Toronto and NYC gigs, in the Citizen Erased slot. During the Paris gig, New Born took this spot.
- During the Paris gig, Plug In Baby was played after Won't Stand Down, instead of Hysteria. The same happened at the Milan gig.
- At the Milan gig, Map of the Problematique instead of Citizen Erased
