Additional Information

The band started teasing the fans only a couple of days before the release by uploading a short video on Instagram, with words saying "MuseHalloweenSpecial". They kept teasing the fans with stills and pictures taken on the set of the video-shoot, before finally releasing a very short looped clip from the music video on their Instagram, with the description saying "October 28th".

The musical style of the cover is also reminiscent of Royal Blood.

The song was recorded in Air Studios in London. It was produced by Muse, engineered by Tommaso Colliva and assisted by Tom Bailey. It was mixed and mastered by Rich Costey at Sound Factory Studios in Los Angeles.

The music video, directed by Tom Kirk is shot in a similar style to that of Psycho's lyric video but with different background elements, aswell as an actress dressed up as a famous comedy-horror character Elvira.

It also features the band dressed up in leather clothing, playing their instruments and Matt wearing an Elvis wig while singing in a retro microphone.

Lyrics

Life is short

Filled with stuff Don't know what for I ain't had enough

I've learned all I know By the age of nine But I could better myself If I could only find

Some new kind of kick Something I ain't had Some new kind of buzz I wanna go hog mad

I'm lookin' and lookin' and lookin' for Something I ain't had before I'm lookin' and lookin' and lookin' to find

Some new kind of kick Some new kind of kick Come on, gimme a kick I want a kick

Like baby needs mom Like Susie needs dick This baby need Some new kind of kick

I want some new kind of kick I want some new kind of kick I want some new kind of kick I want some new kind of kick

I'm lookin' and lookin' and lookin' for Something I ain't had before I'm lookin' and lookin' and lookin' to find

I want some new kind of kick I want some new kind of kick I want some new kind of kick
