Revision as of 21:12, 20 January 2016

This is a series of almost identical Manson guitars that Matt has been using since March 2015. They are the succesors of Manson Matt Black and the Manson Matt Black (batch) guitars. Like all 2015 guitars built by Manson's, these guitars feature a truss rod adjuster that is placed just below the end of the neck and a slightly different bridge compared to the old Matt Blacks.

Background

These two guitars are exactly the same like the Manson Matt Black Stealth #1 except for the normal 'silver' hardware instead of the blackened hardware.

Photos taken before the Psycho UK Tour started, show the guitar in the Matts guitar rack. Official Photos from Manson Guitars led to the assumption, that Matt got two of this guitars delivered (#1 + #2), together with 4 Cort MBC-1 Matthew Bellamy Signature Guitars. The original headstock of these guitars featured the old Manson's logo.

Touring

The first guitar (#1) appeared at the Belfast Ulster Hall on the opening night of the 2015 Psycho Tour. On this tour it was used for songs with the guitar tuned to Drop C (Map Of The Problematique, Dead Inside) and DGDGBe (Uprising).

It is unknown at which point #2 was used live for the first time, but it was seen at the Mayan gig together with its twin, the #1.

Since the club shows in the US Matt used them for various tunings along one other Manson Matt Black 2.0 (#3).

He also used it at some of the festival shows, until he destroyed it at the Download Festival.

At some point during the Drones Festivals Tour the remaining guitar of these two twins (labelled as #2) got a new neck, that features blackened custom hardware and a black truss rod adjuster.

For the first North Americans shows of the The Drones World Tour 2015/16 buyers of the VIP tickets were able to visit a MUSEum, where old MUSE exhibits like old guitars and clothing are displayed. One of the guitars was the #1, that he destroyed at Download Festival.

Background

Two new guitars built by Tim Stark in April/May 2015. They are exactly the same as the previous Matt Blacks 2.0, but feature a Sustainiac instead of a Fernandes Sustainer in the neck pickup position. They're Matts first 6-string guitars with the Sustainiac system, although it has been fitted on both his Black Glitter 7 Strings. The guitars also feature a Gotoh Nickel bridge. Both feature the old Manson's logo on the headstock.

Touring

Both guitars first appeared at the BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2015.
