Analysis and Explanation

Glorious was the first song to be performed from the Black Holes and Revelations era and the first to be dropped from setlists. Glorious was performed at several October and November dates during the 2004 Absolution tour before being skipped until the Earls Court performance in December. From there it was played once more in 2005, but never again after that. It is assumed that, had the song made the international release of the album, it would have been performed far more often. The only performances of the song are early performances that lack many parts of the song that would see the final release including the piano.

The likelihood of Glorious being played live again is limited due to its status as a b-side. Few songs from the Black Holes and Revelations era are played live today, further limiting the possibility of a return. Still, in a poll of 500 fans conducted in November 2015, out of a total thirty songs that had not been played since The Resistance era, fans voted Glorious as the most requested song to make a return to setlists.
