This is a Gibson Les Paul (Slimline Double Cutaway). This was his main guitar for the most of the touring in 2000, until [[Matthew Bellamy|Bellamy]] rammed it into a [[Marshall Mode 4 Cab|Marshall 4x12]] at the [[Dublin Olympia 2000 (gig)|Dublin Olympia]].<ref name="nocite">{{nocite}}</ref> The headstock has been glued back on so it's sort of ok, just a little fragile now.<ref name="nocite" /> Apparently the object taped below the bridge is "a piece of bass fretboard".<ref>{{cite|title="old guitar of Matt" thread|desc=Decribes the object below the bridge.|date=2007-11-19|author=james90   @ muselive.com|url=http://www.muselive.com/forums.php?m=posts&p=923260#923260|domain=muselive.com}}</ref>

It also appears that Matt had another Les Paul DC Lite, with the exact same specs as the gold version (apart from this guitar had chrome hardware and no [[Roland GK-2a Guitar Synthesizer Driver|Roland GK2 MIDI]] pickup.)
