This was Muse' first proper gig outside of Devon,<ref name="rc199912"/> as opposed to the gig at the same venue two years earlier which was self-financed and for friends only. Only one paying person attended,<ref name="rc199912"/> which Matthew Bellamy recalled in 2008 as having been their manager,<ref name="bbc20080310">
