Glasgow SEC Centre
The SEC Centre, or as it was originally known as the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre or SECC until 2017, is an arena in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, in the district of Finnieston on the bank of the River Clyde. The SEC Centre is Scotland's largest exhibition centre. The building opened in 1985 and has gone through two major expansions: The SEC Armadillo Building in 1997 and the SSE Hydro in 2013. The whole area with all three buildings is also called the Scottish Event Campus - hence the name (SEC).
The main building houses five halls. Hall 1 and 2 are smaller while 3 through 5 are bigger halls, Hall 4 being the biggest and is where most concerts and larger events are held at. The space measures 10,065 m2 (108,299 sq ft) and is able to hold approximately 10,000 people, standing and 8,200 people, seating.
The venue hosted the 2008 Eurovision Dance Contest and the Girls' Day Out Show show in 2009, 2010 and 2012. The venue also hosted the 1995 and 2005 World Science Fiction conventions and in 2015 it hosted the Fear & Loathing VIII show of Insane Championship Wrestling series.
