Hello there, I replaced the previous tab which was made by rainwater34 on Ultimate-Guitar with mine which I made almost 100% on my own (except little parts where I referred to rainwater's tab.). I put in a lot of hard work into this so please use the talk page to let me know what changes you will make/have made. I will gladly appreciate it.

No offense to Michael who posted the one made by rainwater here on MuseWiki.

I haven't made any edits to the tab itself, but just a few things I wanted to point out. As per the Making Of video for The 2nd Law, Matt's Strat is tuned down a half step across the board. I know that's common knowledge, this isn't the relevant part.
The part of the tab immediately following "Animal, you're an animal, don't take anything less" starts out quite a bit differently than you have tabbed.
I'm fairly certain it starts off on the B string as "7-8-10~" which translates to "8-9-11~" in standard. Of this I am 100% certain as per the video, unless the way he plays it live and/or the video doesn't necessarily correspond with the audio on the studio version of the song. This changes the way this section (and a couple other sections) should be played dramatically, if you're looking to copy Matt's way of playing it as close as possible.
The hammer-ons/pull-offs on the G I believe are also played on B immediately following the 9th fret on the B-string. I'm not 100% sure of the tab but I just wanted to throw this out there to maybe change the baseline you're working with on this.
I would also like to point out that the 'Solo 2' you have tabbed out sounds and feels a lot more comfortable when played the way it was previously tabbed by the guy on Ultimate Guitar.

Just some fair criticism. Decent tab otherwise.

Hello Seanic, thanks for pointing that out, I have my guitar on my lap, the making of 2nd law open on ::YouTube and am ready to tab out that part again, thanks : )
I was actually trying to aim for a more studio version of the song, of the parts where I can see Matt play :on the making video, I try to follow. The rest I try to watch live footage, but it isn't easy because not :only is Matt's guitar so small from a distance, he also improvises many parts.
Update: I have modified many parts because after a good night's sleep, I awake to find many mistakes in my :tab! --Minimal (talk) 13:26, 4 October 2012 (BST)

Keep the improvements and discussions going, however I'm going to post my version of the tab on Ultimate-Guitar, because I disagree with some of the modifications being made here. They still sound nice, just not what I would agree with.

Also, I'm slightly angered by some users who do not use the talk page before modifying the tab. No cooperation at all.

--Minimal (talk) 09:48, 5 October 2012 (BST)

Uh, this is not Ultimate Guitar, this is a wiki. Modifying is the whole point. If you want to have your own personal tab then you should really post it on UG. Time Q (talk) 10:06, 5 October 2012 (BST)
I know, I just wanted some cooperation. I wanted this to be on Musewiki, for the Muse community so that all of us can join forces to make the best tab ever. I said before I don't really care, maybe feel a little hurt when people modify the hell out of my tab, but at least tell me WHY the modifications were made or something. What happened leaves me no room to agree, disagree, debate and discuss why certain changes were made with other users. Instead what I got now was some phantom who changed it, and disappeared.
A wiki is also a place to discuss, that's why there is a talk page, but apparently people don't know how to use it or just refuse to use it. I'm not going to post my tab on UG however, since I chose this place, I'll stick with it, hopefully creating an awesome tab.
You are welcome to call me naive, idiotic, over-entitled. --Minimal (talk) 10:18, 5 October 2012 (BST)

Suggestions and discussions

I changed some notes and now it sounds more accurate, and changed the part that "needed help" :)

Thanks man! But this part, the second phrase
E |---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B |------------12----------------12------------------12------------------12---|
G |--13--13--13--13--12-12-12-12---12--11-11-11-11-11--11--10-10-10-10-10--10-|
D |---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A |---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
I keep hearing, just like what it was before.
E |---------------------|
B |----------------12---|
G |--12-12-12-12-12--12-|
D |---------------------|
A |---------------------|
Eb|---------------------|
Would you mind listening to that part again? Also, if you do come back to this place, please sign your comment. --Minimal (talk) 10:27, 5 October 2012 (BST)

Btw the outro, I'll have to disagree, I think it sounds more like this. What do you guys think? --Minimal (talk) 10:55, 5 October 2012 (BST)

E |----------------------|
B |----------------------|
G |----------------------| x3
D |--------6-------------|
A |--6-8-9----6-5-4-2----|
Eb|--0--------0----------|

E |----------------------|
B |----------------------|
G |----------------------|
D |--------6-------------|
A |--6-8-9----6-5-4-2\---|
Eb|--0--------0----------|

Tremolo pick everything except the open note.

I also think the solo below

E |--------------------------------------------------------------------|
B |-----11-12-11-12-14-12-11-12-11-------11----11-12-11----11----------|
G |--13----------------------------11--13----13----------13---13-11-10-|
D |--------------------------------------------------------------------|
A |--------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|--------------------------------------------------------------------|

is wrong, it should be

E |---------------------------------------------------------------------|
B |--------12----12-14-12----12-----------------------------------------|
G |--13-15----15----------15----15-----13-15-13-15-16-15-13-15-13-------|
D |---------------------------------16----------------------------16-15-|
A |---------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

because that's how Matt played it. Go to around the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZanpCrhYQMQ 38th minute mark, you can see his hands go lower then higher after the solo (the next note is 13th fret on the G string). But I see Parul you have made some modifications based on the live version, if possible, please try to aim for the album version because the live version always changes. --Minimal (talk) 11:27, 5 October 2012 (BST)

I'm also so sure about

E |-----------11-|
B |--------------|
G |--15r13--11---|
D |--------------|
A |--------------|
Eb|--------------| being correct instead of
E |----------------|
B |-------------12-|
G |--15r13--11-----|
D |----------------|
A |----------------|
Eb|----------------|

So I'm going to replace it. because the 2nd one is the live version. I'll wait till more gigs come out to decide whether to include the 2nd one. --Minimal (talk) 11:48, 5 October 2012 (BST)

He played 12th on B string at E-Werk, Olympia, Roundhouse et SURE he plays it too on the album. I think the 11th on E string you here is maybe the combination of 11th on G string and 12th on B string or maybe he hit the 11th on E string by "mistake" or not loud. Anyways, i'm sure he hit the B. (but maybe on the album the E string too) --Parul94 (talk) 23:00, 5 October 2012 (BST)
