== Description ==
'Supremacy' sees the band going to "absurd levels," according to Matt. Spiralling swamp blues of the track builds to a climax of orchestral hysteria as Matt orates a terrifying scene of mankind losing its supremacy over the Earth as "the seas have risen up" and energy shortages cause global desperation.<ref>http://www.muselive.com/index.php?m=single&id=6747</ref>

According to a French magazine, Jeuxactu, the song has elements of "Kashmir" from Led Zeppelin in its guitar riff and orchestration.<ref>http://www.muselive.com/forums.php?m=posts&q=52987&d=0</ref> The main drum beat is very similar, albeit in a slower form, to the drum beat at the slow section of the Arctic Monkeys' "Crying Lightning" towards the end of the song.

During the post-Madness debut interview on Radio One with Zane Lowe, Matt said the song had a "big 7-string riff."

This song has been compared to Led Zeppelin and a James Bond theme tune.

The song was played at almost every gig during the The 2nd Law Tour, but only made very occasional appearances during the Drones Tour

== Information ==
By error of Bellamy, Howard, Wolstenholme or Kirk, the name of the song was leaked by a photo on Twitter, until it was deleted.

On March 30th 2012, a rumour started on-line, spreading through most of the social networks like twitter and facebook and, naturally, most Muse forums and fan-pages. Apparently, an excerpt of Supremacy had been leaked, revealing roughly 30 seconds of the song. The vocal version can be found here [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuMbeTeSErY]. On April 1st 2012, the leak was confirmed to be fake, an April Fool's Day joke organised by Facebook page Coro Happy B-Day M. <ref name="af20120401">

== Music Video ==
On the 8/02/13 the music video for Supremacy was uploaded to Muse's YouTube channel. It was recorded in Los Angeles, U.S.A.

The meaning behind the video, quoted from Matthew Bellamy is,

"SUPREMACY...a terrifying scene of mankind losing its supremacy over the Earth as "the seas have risen up" and energy shortages cause global desperation."

== Live ==

Supremacy was a stable of The 2nd Law Tour, being performed at nearly every date of the entire tour. It was commonly preceded by Unsustainable and opened most gigs during the tour. After the St. Louis gig in 2013, Isolated System also preceded the song at some dates. Alongside other singles Survival, Panic Station and Follow Me, however, it has rarely made an appearance since. Supremacy made rare appearances during the Drones Tour, mostly appearing as a rarity after the band stopped performing Animals, appearing solely at multi-night gigs since 2016 began. The Drones Tour versions, though far fewer in number, and considerably heavier than The 2nd Law Tour versions.

Wake to see
Your true emancipation is a fantasy
Policies have risen up and overcome the brave
Greatness dies
Unsung and lost invisible to history
Embedded spies
Brainwashing our children to be mean

You don’t have long
I am on to you
The time, it has come to destroy
Your supremacy

You don’t have long
I am on to you
The time, it has come to destroy
Your supremacy
