Part of the Drones Festivals Tour 2016. First time at the Montreux Jazz Festival since their latest performance at the same festival 14 years ago, in 2002.

Information

This gig ended up being extremely reminiscent of the gig at Tokyo Zepp in August 2013. Lots of rare songs and B-sides were played, and the band dressed up in their Panic Station video costumes for the encore.

During The Groove, Matt mixed up the lyrics and swapped the first and second verses. Dom also changed up the drum pattern for it a bit.

Mercy closed a show for the first and only time.

Hyper Music, Fury, The Groove, Futurism, and Micro Cuts were all played for the first time since the beginning of the Drones World Tour. Agitated, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Assassin, and Panic Station were played for just the second time in 2016 and the first time on the festivals tour. Assassin was also played in it's normal version without the Grand Omega Bosses outro for the first time since 2007.

Last performances of Hyper Music, The Groove, Micro Cuts and Panic Station to date.

Bellamy posted a GoPro video from the gig on his Instagram during the Voodoo Child intro to Supermassive Black Hole. It can be watched here.

Media

According to Tom Kirk, just like the Tokyo Zepp gig, the full gig was filmed and recorded. However, the full show has yet to be released. So far the only song that has been released is Fury (audio only), which was released as the 2016 muse.mu Christmas Present. [1]

A fan-made multicamera edit of the show can be watched here.
