When matt was living in Moltrasio Italy, a guy dressed in military gear leaved gifts bearing 'cryptic messages'.

Background

When Matt was living in Italy an Irish fan discovered the location of his house during the recording of The Resistance

Matt said in a Interview: "He's from Ireland and he keeps coming to where I live in Italy. And he keeps leaving bags full of crazy stuff, like loads of bottles with messages written on them. He's got loads of poetry that he has written, which is all about the end of the world. He's trying to create little bits of clues and puzzles that are supposed to lead me to some kind of journey somewhere"[1]

He also, used to claim that he was a family member: "My neighbour gave my address away to him. Apparently he claimed to be a family member. He said he was Irish, was wearing all military gear and was a little bit on the edge."[2]
