|I, I can't get these memories out of my mind
I, I can't get these memories out of my mind
And some kind of madness
And some kind of madness
Is starting to evolve, mmmm
Is starting to evolve, mmm
And I, I tried so hard to let you go
I, I tried so hard to let you go
But some kind of madness
But some kind of madness
Is swallowing me whole, yeah
Is swallowing me whole, yeah

What you mean
What you mean

Now, I need to know is this real love
And now, I need to know is this real love
Or is it just madness
Or is it just madness
Keeping us afloat, mmmm
Keeping us afloat? Mmm
When I look back, at all the crazy fights we had
When I look back, at all the crazy fights we had
It's like some kind of madness
It's like some kind of madness
Was taking control, yeah
Was taking control, yeah

Now, I have finally seen the light
And now, I have finally seen the light
And I have finally realised
And I have finally realised
What you need
What you need

Now, I have finally seen the end
And now, I have finally seen the end
And I'm not expecting you to care, no
And I'm not expecting you to care, no
That I have finally seen the light
That I have finally seen the light
And I have finally realised
And I have finally realised
I need your love

I need your love
I need to love
I need to love

Come to me
Come to me
Just in a dream
Trust in a dream
Come on and rescue me
Come on and rescue me
Yes I know
Yes I know
I can't be wrong
I can be wrong
And maybe you're too headstrong
And baby, I'm too headstrong
Our love is madness
Our love is

Description

A calm, minimal electronic cross between 'I Want To Break Free' and 'Faith' with arrangements similar to Depeche Mode.[1] "You've had a fight with your girlfriend and she goes off to her mum's house for the day and you're on your own going: 'What did I say?'" says Matt, describing the song's inspiration. "I'm sure a lot of blokes have that experience in the early stages of relationships where you go, 'Yeah, she's right, isn't she?'"[2]

Some vocal harmonies over the word "madness" bare resemblence to the barbershop quartet effect heard in Assassin.

During the post-Madness debut interview on Radio One with Zane Lowe, Chris revealed he will be playing a Misa Kitara when performing this track live.

This song is performed a semi-tone lower live, A change from Bb Major to A Major. Presumeably to allow Matt more ease in singing the high note at "I need to love".

Information

By error of Bellamy, Howard, Wolstenholme or Kirk, the name of the song was leaked by a photo on Twitter, until it was deleted.
