Since 2000 and up until 2014, it has been used as a baseball stadium as well, because the only other major baseball stadium in Mexico City (Parque del Seguro Social, formerly Parque Delta) was demolished to build a shopping mall. During that time, it hosted the Diablos Rojos del México and Tigres de México baseball teams. In 2009, it held the Pool B of the World Baseball Classic.
