Helmet is an alternative metal band from New York City formed in 1989. Founded by vocalist and lead guitarist Page Hamilton, Helmet has had numerous lineup changes, and Hamilton has been the only constant member.
Since then, Helmet has become a very influential band, influencing bands such Soulfly, The Casket Lottery, Chevelle, Deftones, Pig Destroyer...
Rather tha being a band's influence, Helmet is one of Chris if not his favorite band

Matt: either primus or rage against the machine (reading 1996) also saw half of the jeff buckley set at reading 1994, very impressive
