A highly regarded Polish pianist and composer of the Romantic Era. His works include the 24 Preludes Op. 28 and the études Op. 10 and Op. 25, the latter influenced Bliss a lot.

"Collateral Damage", the outro of "United States of Eurasia" is a slightly altered reciting of Nocturne In E-Flat Major, Op.9 No.2 by Chopin.

Matthew Bellamy played a snippet Ocean Etude Op 25 No 12 in Saint-Malo Route du Rock 2001.

"Prelude", the intro for "Survival", features a famous melody (believed by Chopin himself to be his most beautiful) from Chopin's Etude Op.10 No.3 in E Major.

The chorus of "Blockades", features the melody of Chopin's Op. 25 No. 12 (or Ocean) Etude, the same snippet that Bellamy played in 2001.
