Background

This guitar was a signature production model made in partnership between Matt Bellamy, Manson's Guitars and Cort Guitars to allow Manson guitars to be more ready available to a wider array of fans. It is based on Matt's original Matt Black, later releasing a left handed model and subsequently the MBC1-RS (Red Sparkle) - based on the Red Glitter in February 2016.

First announced in late 2014, and unveiled at the NAMM show in January 2015, and over time Manson's Guitar Works released various upgrade options along with the new models, such as Sustainiac neck pickup, Fuzz Factory Installation, Custom Aluminium Volume & Tone Knobs and Headstock Tuners (Silver and Black options) and most recently a Stealth Pack Upgrade - with all the hardware being replaced with all black materials, to resemble the Manson Matt Black Stealth (batch)#Manson Matt Black Stealth - #1

Upgrade options

The guitar was available for upgrades and modifications directly at the Manson Guitar Workshop. The upgrades include:

  • Custom MBC-1 volume & tone knobs
  • Custom MBC-1 machineheads
  • Sustainiac Pickup
  • Manson MBK-2 Bridge Pickup
  • Internal Fuzz Factory install
