Band of Skulls consists of Russell Marsden (guitar, vocals), Emma Richardson (bass, vocals), and Matt Hayward (drums), who formed a band after they all met in college. On March 23rd, 2010, the Band of Skulls released "Friends-EP", which includes the studio-recorded version of "Friends", a live version, and a music video of the song. They have played at the SXSW Festival in early 2010, and have spread their music even more. They toured the Midwest in March in support of the BRMC, or the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. In April of 2010, they toured in the U.S. and Canada. And currently, they are playing in England in May 2010, including a sold-out show at the London Electric Ballroom. On June 28th 2010 they supported the Dead Weather at the Roundhouse in London.
