We Are Wolves

We Are Wolves is a Canadian indie rock and dance-punk band from Montreal, Canada, consisting of vocalist/bassist Alexander Ortiz, keyboardist/backing vocalist Vincent Levesque and drummer/vocalist Pierre-Luc Bégin. The band formed in in 2000 and remained nameless until 2002, when Ortiz showed up to the jam space wearing a home-made shirt with a skull spitting a synth, displaying the inscription "We Are Wolves". The band decided to name themselves after that.

The band released their debut album in 2005, called Non-Stop Je Te Plie en Deux. The band promoted the album with several international festival appearances including Osheaga Festival, Virgin Festival and SXSW. They embarked on a North American tour in 2005, opening for …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead and The (International) Noise Conspiracy. In 2006, they supported Gossip on their tour, in addition to solo gigs in America and Canada.

In 2007, after releasing an EP, they released their second album called Total Magique. The album was well recieved by the media, being covered by Pitchfork and Spin. They also recieved a M-Galaxie award at M for Montreal. Following the release and some promotional sold out gigs in Canada, the band went on a Canadian, U.S. and European tour in 2007/2008. In 2008, they recieved a Gémeaux Award for the Best TV Musical Theme for Bazzo.tv theme. A song from the album called Psychic Kids also appeared on Midnight Club: Los Angeles and Fight And Kiss appeared on Need for Speed: ProStreet.

In 2009, the band released their third studio album, Invisible Violence, with the song Holding Hands featuring on the video game called Grand Turismo 5.

2013 saw the release of La Mort Pop Club, the fifth LP and in 2016, they released their latest album called Wrong.

We Are Wolves supported Muse during the second Canada/U.S. leg of The 2nd Law Tour, in Québec on April 26th, 2013.
