The Strokes are an indie rock band formed in New York City in 2001. They are considered one of the most influential bands of the 2000s and leaders of the "post-punk revival". The band is composed of lead singer and songwriter Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti.

Matt started singing The Strokes' praises back in September of '05. He has said that he likes how their music sounds like you've known it all your life. Matt went to a Strokes concert at the Brixton Academy, and he disguised himself so that he wouldn't be recognised. He "had a pair of fake glasses on."[1]

Matt and Julian played a game of table tennis together at the Big Day Out festival in Adelaide in 2004
