Information

Announced in July of 2012, Muse were one of the headliners of the 2013 Rock In Rio festival, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Other headliners included Metallica, Beyonce, Iron Maiden and Bruce Springsteen, amongst others.

The Show

Matt performed Starlight with no guitar and spent most of the song at the barrier dividing the crowd. During the last chorus, he took a flag from a member of the audience and draped it over his face.

During the outro of Agitated Matt threw his guitar across the stage, into the Dickinson amp twice, then into piano, where it sat balanced on the stool. As Matt sat down to play Survival, he noticed that the piano keyboard was damaged from the impact of the guitar-throw earlier in the set.

The shortened version of Montpellier Jam was played for the first time.

During Man With a Harmonica, Chris experienced some technical difficulties with the first set of harmonicas so he replaced it with a spare one.

After the show, Matt tweeted "We love you Brazil. Starlight changed me tonight."[3]

Vocal distortion was used by Matt for parts of Unnatural Selection and all of Agitated.
