Wembley Stadium is a football stadium in the borough of Brent, London. It was originally built in 1924, closed in 2000 for reconstruction, and opened again in 2007. The new stadium is the most expensive ever built at a cost of approximately £793 million, and has a maximum seated capacity of 75,000 for music concerts, and a concert standing capacity of 15,000, levelling the total capacity with the full seated capacity of 90,000 for football matches.

Wembley Stadium forms part of the Wembley entertainment complex, which also includes Wembley Arena, Wembley Conference Centre, the Wembley Exhibition Halls and Wembley Show Hall.

Muse would have been the first musical act to perform in the new incarnation of the stadium on the 16th June 2007,[1] until it was announced by George Michael that he would in fact be performing at the stadium on the 9th & 10th June 2007. The double concerts of 2007 were judged "Wembley's Greatest Event (1923 to 2010)" by popular web vote.[2][3]
