Exclusive - Muse: 'Klaxons can still play Wembley'

Matt Bellamy reinvites the ravers to support them

Muse have said that Klaxons can still support them at Wembley Stadium later this year, despite accidentally rejecting an earlier offer.

As previously reported, the new rave pioneers were invited to join the bill for one of the shows that take place at the London venue on June 16 and 17, but drunkenly turned the offer down despite being keen to play.

However just as band member Jamie Reynolds was regretting the missed chance, Matt Bellamy has told NME.COM that Klaxons can still play one of the shows.

After being told of the mistaken rejection, the Muse singer said: "Is that what they've said? Well OK, if they're still up for it well bring them on!"

He added that his group were now looking for other bands to join them at the Wembley shows.

"We'll probably get three bands on for each night and we'd like to get a few new bands in there," said Bellamy, speaking from the Australian leg of the Big Day Out festival. "It would be good. We're surrounded by good bands on the Big Day Out tour so we might get a few bands here to play with us. We need to start putting a little billing together."
